BeephoniX develops biomimetic microphone technology based on the localization capabilities of bees. Our partner, Absolute Audio Labs, has designed the PYOUR software suite, which enhances speech intelligibility and music experience with advanced algorithms. Together, we are committed to developing an advanced hearing system specifically aimed at improving hearing in noisy environments. 

This system consists of a patented microphone array and DSP software, minimizing unwanted background noise and amplifying desired speech. We are creating a miniature version of this microphone that can be worn on clothing and achieve a directivity index of 9.9 dB, much higher than the 5-6 dB of current hearing aids. By combining this technology with wireless connectivity and low latency, we provide a natural and synchronous hearing experience. The development takes place in collaboration with reputable partners such as Renesas Electronics Corporation, who intend to integrate the technology into future chip releases.

BeephoniX was founded in 2022 as a spin-off from the Radboud University Department of Biophysics, one of the front-runners in the field of directional hearing. We build upon 20+ years of research experience in the field of signal processing and our team is dedicated to advancing our patented dynamic microphone technology. Our close connection to clinical practice allows us to build hearing solutions for and together with audiologists and ENT doctors.
